Last week had this in weekly feedback:
Mintchip said this at the beginning of July:
Quote: PVE is coming, but not any time super soon - we've been working on and adding different features and re-prioritized some pretty essential fixes to the game. What I can say is that we've done some work on it, just that it's been paused for now, and I will let you know as soon as it's cooking again! :) CCP Mintchip // Twitter - @CCP_Mintchip Dust 514 Community Rep
Soxfour said this a month before that, which implies that team "paused" perhaps?:
And way back in April, Eterne said this:
Quote: Adding PvE content that is actually fun and engaging is a large undertaking and is something we currently do not have an exact timetable on. It is something we are looking at adding in the future, however, it is not part of Uprising. EVE Online/DUST 514 Community Representative GÇ+ EVE Illuminati GÇ+ Fiction Adept

If you want to roll forward from April, the official line looks like: 1. It's complicated, no exact time-table, but not Uprising. 2. Some team is working on it... 3. We're putting that on hold while we work on other things, and we'll tell you when we start working on it again.
Conclusion: Since they haven't said they've started back up on it, and they said they'd tell us when they did --- no one is working on PvE right now. There was no timetable even when they were working on it, but it's currently a "never" thing as long as no one is working on it. |

Team Deathmatch and Control Points are the only game modes.
Interestingly, games like Bioshock 2 (mostly singleplayer) had more game modes. As did Perfect Dark Zero (also mostly singleplayer), etc.
...
Actually it's kinda bizarre when you think about it, to have a game with no single-player or PvE/co-op content that only has two gameplay modes. Even really early multiplayer-only games like Quake 3 had more than 2 game modes back in 1999, and Quake 3 let you play with bots if you really wanted to anyway. |
